Bede Gaming senior team expanded with Dan Whiteley as CTO

Dan Whiteley has been appointed as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Bede Gaming, the Gauselmann Group igaming solutions firm.

Whiteley has worked in tech, digital industry and igaming for 25 years, with his sports betting and gambling experience primarily coming from a tenure at Flutter Entertainment, where he was Director of Software Engineering for The Stars Group

His other roles include just under two years as CTO of Jugo, Technology Lead at BrainsparkGames, Senior Associate – CIO/CTO Advisory at Fruition Consulting and CTO – Equiniti Digital at Equiniti.

Commenting on the addition to Bede’s executive team, CEO Colin Cole-Johnson said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Dan to the team. As CTO, he will be pivotal in driving our technology strategy, collaborating with all teams across the business to ensure Bede is an industry leader in innovative and cutting-edge solutions.

“He will be an integral part of Bede operations, both internally and externally, and his extensive experience in technology leadership makes him an excellent fit for this role.”

Newcastle-upon-Tyne-based Bede Gaming provides igaming software solutions to a range of operators in Europe, Africa, North and South America, with notable clients including the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

The company outlined that the new CTO will ‘fortify’ its operations and performance as it seeks to progress its growth strategy. In particular, the firm hopes to leverage his performance in developing highly scalable solutions.

This will include leveraging Whiteley’s background and skill sets in digital transformation, product engineering, architecture, IT service, security and operations to Bede’s business.

The addition of Whiteley to its senior executive team follows the appointment of Kirsty Stewart as Chief Legal & Client Services Officer.

Whiteley commented: “I’m proud to become part of Bede’s journey. It’s a company with proven strength in engineering excellence, and the potential to build upon Bede’s current capabilities is an exciting prospect. I’m looking forward to working with the team to deliver cutting edge technology for the igaming market.”
