OpenBet is making good on its ambitions to build closer links with the global lottery industry, specifically by providing sports betting solutions to various lottery operators.
The firm’s latest move in this area has seen it launch a next-generation sportsbook platform with Switzerland’s Loterie Romande, the lottery operator for the country’s six French-speaking regions known as cantons.
OpenBet has fully migrated Loterie Ramande’s JouezSport omnichannel sportsbook product to its own platform. The product encompasses online, self-service, and over-the-counter betting, with 2,350 point-of-sale retail locations.
The upgrade comes six months after OpenBet first partnered with Loterie Romande, a deal which formed part of a wider push by the company to strengthen its links to World Lottery Association (WLA) member lotteries.
“We are excited to see how this partnership continues to evolve, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with the OpenBet team,” said Jean-Luc Moner-Banet, Chief Executive Officer of Loterie Romande.
OpenBet has a stated goal of positioning itself as a key partner for WLA members. It aims to make its platform – consisting of managed trading services, AI-enhanced odds and risk management and a trading system platform – the one of choice for state-backed lotteries worldwide.
The lottery sector was identified as a specific target for OpenBet following the completion of its management buyout last year. Group management took full ownership of the company from long-time owner Endeavor, which now operates as WWE Holdings.
“We are delighted to continue our track record of delivering world-class technology and peerless scale to WLA members around the world,” said Nikos Konstakis, President at OpenBet.
“We are excited to see how this partnership continues to evolve, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with the OpenBet team.”
The deal comes shortly after OpenBet expanded its lottery technology capabilities by acquiring WLA supplier OmniLogic.
