Lottery technology company Brightstar Lottery is not letting up in 2026, as the firm clinches yet another deal.

The company revealed this week that its Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation subsidiary has signed a multi-year extension with Spain’s Organización Nacional de Ciegos Espanoles (ONCE).

ONCE is Spain’s national association for the blind and visually impaired. Like many charity organisations, it operates a lottery to help with fundraising, and Brightsar has been providing the technology services for this lottery operation since 2002.

The renewal sees Brightstar recommitment to software enhancements, and supporting the evolution of ONCE”s central gaming system.

“ONCE is pleased to extend our long and successful relationship with Brightstar,” said Virginia Castellano, Deputy Director General for Organization, Talent and Resources.

“Brightstar is the right partner to help us continue evolving our lottery operations, reinforcing our commitment to safe, responsible lotteries with a social purpose, and enabling us to fund a wide range of social programs and services to support people with severe visual impairments and people with other disabilities in Spain.”

The renewed contract is the third deal Brightstar has penned this month, following an extension to its partnership with the New York Lottery and a new deal signed with Pam American World Airways.

It has now been a year and three months since Brightstar took on its new identity. The firm rebranded from its long-held moniker of IGT in June following the divestment of its gaming arm to Apollo Global Management, which continues to operate as IGT.

The name Brightstar was chosen to reflect its new focus on just lottery operations. The following year has seen this strategy play out with a huge range of deals signed, including the firm becoming one of the four members of the Lottoitalia consortium.

“ONCE is world renowned for its commitment to improving the social and professional inclusion of people with disabilities and Brightstar is honored to serve their lottery operations to support this important work,” said Marco Tasso, Brightstar Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Global Lottery.

“We look forward to continue providing ONCE with leading technology solutions for its lottery system.”
