Scientific Games (SG) will maintain its commercially supporting role with the Florida Lottery for three more years.

Part of the SG Enhanced Partnership program, the lottery receives access to a range of tailored products and services such as real-time analytics to optimise its commercial strategy. This in turn helps with driving profits that then become re-invested into Florida social welfare programs.

Similarly, SG’s program contributes to the development of more than 20 other member lotteries internationally. Its US-facing partnership network saw a combined total of 31% performance improvement rate in fiscal 23/24.

John Schulz, President Americas and Global Instant Products for Scientific Games, said: “The Florida Lottery’s partnership and collaboration with Scientific Games has resulted in Scratch-Off performance that is consistently among the best in the world.

“We’re very proud that our work together has continually improved instant game profits to benefit education in Florida.”

Partners rooted in history

The Florida Lottery has been an exclusive partner of SG since 1988 when the company first supplied it with Scratch-Off games. Then, in 1997 both entities entered into a fully-fledged commercial partnership, with the lottery adopting SG’s instant game management program.

Since then, Florida Lottery has seen a drastic shift in revenue, with only its Scratch-Off sales going from $584m annually then to $6bn now.

John F. Davis, Florida Lottery Secretary, added: “Our mission is to maximize revenues for the enhancement of public education in Florida, which have totaled more than $48bn thus far.

“Since 1997, we’ve helped send more than one million Florida students to college on a Bright Futures Scholarship. By extending our Scratch-Off games partnership with Scientific Games, we will continue to put our students’ dreams of higher education within reach.”

Mapping out the US

Scientific Games holds a significant market share of the lottery games supplier market in North America.

Besides Florida, the company has built an intricate network of partnerships in a number of other states, including New Mexico, Kentucky, Delaware, Oregon, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Kansas, and Iowa.
