International Game Technology (IGT) has signed an iLottery solutions supply agreement with the Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC).
The long-term contract will run until May 2031 and includes terms for four years of possible extensions, with initial launch scheduled in ‘the late fall’ of this year.
In an expansion of its core iLottery offering, the CLC will introduce new products to its portfolio via the agreement. Specifically, IGT will enable the state operator to sell Keno and draw-based games for the first time via a new website and mobile app.
Srini Nedunuri, IGT Senior Vice President, Global iLottery, said: “IGT has a proven track record of delivering growth-driving solutions to our global lottery customers and we are excited to build upon this momentum by introducing iLottery to the CLC’s players.
“Our iLottery technology is backed by decades-long industry leadership. We will partner closely with the CLC over the next eight years to develop a world-class iLottery program and help to generate maximum funds to good causes within the State.”
Specifics of the contract will see IGT leverage its iLottery system, including a suite of systems designed to maximise the CLC’s back-office efficiency and introduce ‘intuitive and engaging’ player experiences.
Additionally, the firm will develop the aforementioned website and mobile app as a platform for CLC customers to play Keno, multi-state jackpot games and Connecticut draw-based lottery games such as Lotto!, Cash5, Play3 with Wild Ball and Play4 with Wild Ball.
The new agreement marks both a continuation and an expansion of IGT’s commercial relationship with the CLC, with the duo having first partnered up back in 2021 to install the London-based supplier’s Aurora technology into the lottery’s operations.
Strengthening its general offering is high on the CLC’s agenda this year, as the operator is also seeking a new sportsbook supplier, having begun to wind down its partnership with Rush Street Interactive (RSI) in April.
Gregory Smith, Connecticut Lottery Corporation President & CEO, added: “The CLC recognises that today’s lottery player is looking for convenient and modern options to play their favourite games, and IGT’s iLottery system will allow us to offer our players the same great experiences they receive at retail in a responsible, digital format.
“We look forward to deploying this iLottery system and believe the expanded play options will be a welcome addition among our players.”
