IGT has been awarded an ‘advanced’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) score by Moody’s ESG Solutions, bettering its grade from last year.

The global lottery and gaming firm has been recognised for its ‘strong commitments to diversity, environmental strategy, fundamental human and labour rights and health and safety’.

IGT has secured the number one spot in the hotel, leisure goods and services of North America sector, and the score positions the company in the top 4% of more than 4,800 companies assessed by the rating agency.

Wendy Montgomery, IGT SVP, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability, commented: “IGT has a dedicated commitment across our organisation to advance our sustainability initiatives. Achieving the highest ESG assessment in our sector from such a notable group as Moody’s ESG Solutions illustrates how IGT continues to set the standard in gaming for sustainable practices.

“We share this honour with our investors, customers and employees, who have embraced our commitment to advancing our global sustainability initiatives.”

Meanwhile, IGT recently announced its subsidiary IGT Global Solutions had extended its contract with Loterie Romande – the French-speaking Swiss lottery – until 2031.

As part of the agreement, the company has committed to providing lottery technology and deploying the back-end of its ilottery system. Replacing Loterie Romande’s current system provider, the deal is part of a pledge to enhance the lottery player experience in Switzerland.
