The Texas Lottery and the Houston Texans have collaborated again to release a new scratch ticket game ahead of the imminent start of the 2022 NFL season.
This marks the 14th straight year that the two have partnered to celebrate the new football campaign, and the latest Houston Texans scratch ticket offers more than $17.7m in total cash prizes, including four top prizes of $100,000 and 865 non-cash second-chance prizes.
Launched on Monday, August 15, the $5 game is available at all Texas Lottery retailers where scratch ticket games are sold.
The new NFL campaign starts with the Kickoff game on September 8, when the Los Angeles Rams play host to the Buffalo Bills at SoFi Stadium.
“The Texas Lottery is proud to continue a strong partnership with the Houston Texans to generate much-needed funding for public education in our state through the sale of the always popular Houston Texans scratch ticket game,” commented Gary Grief, Executive Director of the Texas Lottery, which has unveiled a host of new scratch ticket games this year, partnering with the likes of Pollard Banknote and Texas Motor Speedway.
“In addition to great cash prizes, this year’s game will once again offer Texas Lottery players and Houston Texans fans chances to win unique second chance prizes and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.”
More than $251.5m has been generated in sales since the first Houston Texans scratch ticket was released in 2009, with $55.1m of that total transferred to the Foundation School Fund, which supports education across the state..
During that time, more than $171.9m in prizes from the game has been awarded to winners and over$12.6m in commissions has been transferred to retailers around the state.

The five entry deadlines for the separate second-chance drawings are: September 9, October 14, November 11 and December 9, with the final drawing date yet to be determined.
