Pollard Banknote has appointed Verica Simic as its next Chief Financial Officer, securing a successor to Rob Rose as the Canadian lottery and charitable gaming supplier prepares for a year-end finance handover.

Simic will join the business on 16 November before formally assuming the CFO position on 1 January 2027. Rose retires on 31 December after 32 years with the company. The overlap will allow the pair to work together on transferring responsibilities.

Her appointment brings an executive with more than three decades of financial experience into a business spanning lottery ticket production, charitable gaming equipment and digital services.

Simic most recently served as Senior Vice President, Finance at Spin Master Corporation, the toys, digital games and entertainment group. Earlier positions included senior finance roles at Norbord and Komatsu Canada, having earned her CPA designation at Arthur Andersen.

John Pollard, Co-Chief Executive Officer, said: “Verica brings a strong combination of financial leadership, public company experience and commercial perspective.”

The succession closes a lengthy chapter for Rose, whose retirement was announced in April. During his tenure, Pollard completed its public offering, converted from an income trust to a corporate share structure and executed more than a dozen acquisitions.

Simic inherits a finance remit covering Pollard Banknote‘s established manufacturing operations alongside the company’s continuing expansion into digital gaming and player engagement services for lottery customers.

She added: “I am delighted to be joining Pollard Banknote.”
