FDJ United has secured and extended ‘corporate environmental commitments’ for its operations, facilities and workforce spanning London, Stockholm, Paris and Malta.
The Paris EuroNext gambling group, has announced a new standard of its International Organization for Standardisation (ISO) ‘14001’ benchmark related to the sustainability, health and environment of its business structure.
ISO programmes are recognised as the highest independent valuation of corporate responsibility on environmental, social and governance disciplines.
The organisation provides reviews and guidelines on 23,000 standards to improve corporate governance, ethics and sustainability.
FDJ moves to a new ISO standard having fulfilled key initiatives of its charter initiative in 2020, under its former operations as Française des Jeux (FDJ). ISO responsibilities were transferred for the Group’s enlargement following the €2bn acquisition of Kindred Group in 2024.
In London, the Group reports that food waste is 30% lower than at comparable organisations. The office has installed high-efficiency boilers and LED lighting, uses renewable electricity and has introduced more energy-efficient equipment.
Stockholm gained certification in 2026 after introducing measures to reduce energy use. FDJ UNITED said the office is also working with suppliers to align their practices with the Group’s environmental targets.
Malta was certified this year. According to a benchmarking exercise cited by the Group, energy consumption at its Maltese premises is 57% lower than that of comparable organisations across Europe.
The ISO 14001 charter is based on an environmental management system rather than a fixed emissions or energy-reduction target. It gives each site a structure for assessing its impacts, setting objectives and reviewing progress.
For FDJ United, the three certifications also provide a consistent approach across offices in different jurisdictions.
Environmental and Sustainability Initiatives will be led by Petra Angel Global FM Operations and Compliance Lead: In total, more than 1,200 employees are involved in this certification-driven initiative across these three countries.
