Ageeth Bakker has been named the new Chief Financial and Risk Officer (CFRO) of the Nederlandse Loterij (Dutch Lottery).
The financial risk expert will officially take on her new responsibilities on 1 November 2026, coordinating with the rest of the leadership team – Chief Executive Officer Arjan Blok, Chief Technology Innovation Officer Maartje Geven, and Chief Compliance Officer Arno de Jong.
Raymond Knops, Chairman of the Supervisory Board (RvC) of the Nederlandse Loterij, said: “The RvC is pleased to welcome a very experienced director like Ageeth Bakker as CFRO of Nederlandse Loterij.
“Her extensive expertise in finance and risk and a career in regulated sectors are a perfect fit for this board position. With the arrival of Ageeth Bakker, the board is at full strength to further realize the strategic ambitions of Nederlandse Loterij, as the most responsible gambling provider and the largest driver of sport and exercise.”
As a sidenote, the government has previously pondered the possibility of privatising the state-owned operator. No decisive conclusion has been reached yet.
Since 2019, Bakker has been acting as the CFRO and Board of Directors member of insurance giant Bovemij Group. Prior to that, she was the Chairman and Director of mutual insurance society Centramed Mutual Guarantee Group.
Her career also spans 13 years at Achmea Group, where she held a number of management positions, including Financial Director of subsidiaries Centraal Beheer and Avéro Achmea.
