Scientific Games (SG) is now pledging support for the US National Council on Problem Gambling’s Gift Responsibly campaign for eight years in a row.

The campaign reinforces SG’s commitment to responsible gambling and raising awareness around the process of gifting lottery games to minors, with the company being the first lottery games provider to join the initiative.

Stephanie McCummings, Senior Director, Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility for Scientific Games, commented: “Responsible gaming is a core pillar of our operations.

“Through initiatives like the Gift Responsibly campaign, we’re helping raise awareness that lottery games are meant for adults, while supporting our lottery partners in promoting healthy play.”

Scientific Games closely collaborates with lotteries and industry stakeholders to ensure that it stays compliant with the latest responsible gaming standards, and that they are incorporated throughout its products and services. ITs credibility is also boosted by Scientific Games’ global recognition by the World Lottery Association.

The lottery games provider also works on various research and education projects. One such initiative is the firm’s Annual Responsible Gaming Research launched in 2021, which offers independent insights into player behaviours.

According to the latest statistics, the majority of lottery players are responsible customers that score low on the risk metric, which is more evidence for the lottery sector’s responsible gambling practices.

A more recent milestone for Scientific Games saw the company being awarded a lottery service supplier licence by the UAE’s regulator, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority.
