Scientific Games has been granted a lottery service supplier licence from the UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA).
The company joins the ranks of eight other suppliers licensed by the GCGRA, including Aristocrat, Novomatic, and IGT.
Michael Conforti, President of International Business at Scientific Games, commented: “We are extremely pleased that Scientific Games has been authorized as a lottery supplier in the UAE with this license.
“We look forward to putting our more than 50 years of expertise to work in the UAE to offer high-performing products that will responsibly help drive revenue for lottery programs supporting local communities and projects of national importance.”
Founded in 2023, the GCGRA is the federal executive agency that oversees commercial gaming in the UAE, which includes iGaming, sports wagering, and land-based venues.
The regulator’s board boasts a list of global industry heavyweights, such as Jim Murren, former CEO of MGM Resorts International, and Kevin Mullally, who previously held a role with Gaming Laboratories International – a company that is now actively guiding businesses who are venturing into the newly-launched Brazilian market.
Most recently, the GCGRA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement which will ensure that the UAE’s gambling landscape remains future-proof in terms of innovation and capabilities.
For anyone interested in exploring the perspectives that the UAE holds as a market, SBC will host a digital day on 29 May featuring topics like crypto adoption, an expansion of regulated sports betting possibilities, as well as the launch of the local Wynn integrated casino.
