Scientific Games (SG) has announced a planned rollout of its SCiQ retail technology across North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) retailers.
A total of 1,000 SCiQ units will be deployed at physical locations across North Carolina, with Scientific Games looking to position its Scratch-Off games at an even more favourable sport amongst US customers.
NCEL’s total retail sales of Scratch-Off Games reached more than $2.9bn in FY24, making it a leading lottery instant game provider in world rankings.
Being long-term partners, SG also provides NCEL with instant games as part of its Scientific Games Enhanced Partnership program.
Michael Martin, VP Retail Solutions for Scientific Games, said: “We commend the NCEL team for its clear vision on the need for technology that improves how Scratch-Off games are managed and sold in stores.
“Scientific Games is thrilled to add more value to our instant game partnership with NCEL through SCiQ, and we look forward to working with NCEL retailers to make selling Scratch-Offs as easy and efficient as possible.”
Leveraging efficiency
Continuing their profitable partnership, which includes leveraging SG’s SciTrak predictive ordering system, NCEL will now be able to also utilise SCiQ to achieve more supply chain efficiencies.
Store visitors will be serviced with brand new digital display terminals that offer in-depth details about available games, all available through digital menu boards.
Retailers will on the other hand be able to access automated inventory management to reduce out-of-stocks, and acquire comprehensive insights into store-specific sales and market basket performance.
Mark Michalko, NCEL CEO and Executive Director, added: “We’re excited to bring SCiQ to our retailers throughout the state, providing them with a streamlined way to manage and sell NCEL Scratch-Off games in their stores.
“We anticipate that this technology system will improve inventory management for our retailers with store-level data analytics and improve sales to ultimately benefit education in our state.”
