Atlantic Lottery (AL) has welcomed Dallas McCready as its new President and CEO with immediate effect.
Previously Chief Strategy Officer at the Canadian lottery firm since 2022, McCready has more than 20 years of experience in the gaming and public sectors.
The former AL head, Patrick Daigle, announced his plans for retirement in 2024 after more than 27 years of service. After the announcement, the AL appointed an ad-hoc Board committee to oversee the choice for the next CEO and President.
With the committee getting talent management firm Royer Thompson on board for the search, McCready was chosen after a lengthy international search process reviewing more than 120 top-level applications.
Sean O’Connor, Chair of Atlantic Lottery’s Board of Directors, commented: “On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are thrilled that our search identified Dallas as the next President and CEO of Atlantic Lottery.
“He brings significant gaming experience and a unique set of skills and experiences that will drive the organization forward at a very exciting time in the industry. The fact that we were able to identify the ideal next President and CEO from the internal executive ranks speaks to the strength and depth of the team at Atlantic Lottery.”
McCready’s professional career comes with a deep knowledge of the North American gaming sector. Before joining AL as Chief Strategy Officer, he was the Vice President at Inversa Systems, after serving as a Deputy Minister with the Government of New Brunswick.
On his appointment, McCready commented: “I’m honoured to have earned the confidence of the Board and I look forward to the exciting work ahead with the team.
“Atlantic Lottery has always punched above its weight. With increasing competition in the sector, we are emerging as a leader in healthy play for our customers while continuing to make a game-changing impact for the people and places of Atlantic Canada.”
