Pollard Banknote has been awarded an exclusive lottery ticket provider license by the Taiwan Lottery (TLC).
The CAD $66m (£36.6m) contract will last until 31 December, 2028, and features an additional clause to extend it for five more years.
Pollard Banknote has been a longstanding partner of TLC, providing it with instant tickets since 2006. Its expertise and knowledge of the Taiwanese market will be leveraged to further boost local sales.
Thanks to their previous collaboration, TLC is on track to reach record instant ticket sales in 2024, driven by Pollard Banknote’s ticket games like 20 Million Super Red Envelope.
Doug Pollard, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Pollard Banknote, commented: “Over the past 18 years, Pollard Banknote has cultivated a collaborative and trusting relationship with the Taiwan Lottery, and we are thrilled to continue our partnership over the course of the new contract term.
“We are extremely honoured to be a part of the Lottery’s success in achieving its primary goal of supporting underprivileged residents in Taiwan, and deeply admire the Lottery’s dedication to giving back to the community.”
TLC supports socially disadvantaged groups by allocating lottery profits to welfare programs, national pensions, and universal health insurance. Between 2014 and 2023, cumulative lottery proceeds reached CAD $12.7bn (£7bn). An additional CAD $116m (£64m) also enters the state treasury annually.
Jonathan Hsieh, President of TLC, added: “Pollard Banknote continues to be an invaluable partner in supporting our success. Their commitment to quality and producing instant tickets uniquely suited to the Taiwanese market have led to us achieving our highest sales record to date.
“We look forward to continuing this success and growing our sales further throughout the next contract term to benefit social welfare programs across Taiwan.”
