The Arizona Lottery (AL) has partnered with Pollard Banknote’s mkodo subsidiary, specifically leveraging the company’s GeoLocs geolocation service.
GeoLocs will be used to support the AL’s Lucky Lounge online sweepstakes platform, specifically to ensure compliance – particularly as ‘thousands of players’ have begun using the product – and ‘seamless integration’ into the lottery’s operation.
The AL’s new product allows players access to digital games with the chance to win or purchase tokens and enter sweepstakes, and Lucky Lounge has also been linked to the Pollard PlayON loyalty/player engagement platform.
Chris Rogers, Arizona Lottery Deputy Director Marketing and Products, said: “GeoLocs was the perfect choice for Arizona Lottery’s geolocation verification needs.
“The technology and expertise behind GeoLocs, as well as the knowledge of regulations and compliance in the region, has been a fantastic support and is what made the GeoLocs offering stand out as we implement geolocation within our offering.”
Sweepstakes was launched back in June as the AL sought to further diversify its online offering. The operator has been experiencing strong upticks in engagement over the past year, even prior to the launch, with 2022 sales standing at $1.5bn.
Meanwhile, the lottery’s use of GeoLocs marks a further extension of its long-standing relationship with Pollard Banknote, which has completed the debut of its mkodo division in the US via the new deal. The supplier previously provided the operator with solutions such as its ‘Scratch & Scan’ product line.
Stuart Godfree, Managing Director at mkodo, added: “mkodo is excited to partner with the Arizona Lottery, supporting it to ensure full compliance with geolocation regulations across the state in support of its sweepstakes program.
“Following its early 2023 launch, we’re pleased to further establish GeoLocs as a leading compliance provider in North America. We are excited to work with the Arizona Lottery to offer it and its players the best user experience for geolocation verification.”
