PAGCOR elects Wilma Eisma to President

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has welcomed lawyer Wilma Eisma as its new President and Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Eisma took her oath as the first woman to hold these roles in a ceremony held in Malacanang in front of PAGCOR’s Executive Secretary, Lucas Bersamin

PAGCOR Chairman, Alejandro Tengco, commented: “We are happy to welcome Atty. Wilma Eisma as PAGCOR’s new President and COO. We know she will be a great asset, and her vast experience in both the government and private sectors will surely be put to good use here.”

After swearing in, Eisma immediately began her duties by joining the afternoon’s PAGCOR Board meeting.

The new President holds a law degree from the Ateneo de Manila University and joins PAGCOR from a previous tenure as a member of the Board of Directors of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DPB), which oversees the economic development of the country.

She’s also been a key figure at the Department of Trade and Industry, working at the Office of the Secretary, as well as in the Office of the Majority Leader in the House of Representative.

Succeeding previous President Juanito Sanosa Jr, Eisma will continue to support key PAGCOR initiatives, one of which saw the lowering of the gross gaming revenue (GGR) remittance rate by 5% this April
