Lottoland nets German .de licence

Lottoland Deutschland has gained approval to launch its online lottery brokerage business in Germany.

With a new licence – under its Lottoland-deutschland.de and Lottohelden-deutschland.de domains – the organisation will distribute state-licensed lotteries in the country online as a broker.

Magnus von Zitzewitz, Lottoland Deutschland Managing Director, commented: “We are delighted that our licence application has finally been approved by the Joint Gaming Authority of the German federal states after intensive examination by the federal states.”

The Joint Gambling Authority of the German Federal States’ (GGL) “whitelist” reports that Lottoland is the latest company to be approved for lottery brokerage.

Lottoland Deutschland now joins the likes of Lotto24, Faber Lotto, Lottobay, Next Lotto and Tipland. The organisation has also applied for a licence to operate sports betting and online slots in the country.

The company has previously faced difficulties in Germany, having been accused of operating illegally in the country by the GGL in the past. This year’s relaunch suggests that these issues have likely been resolved.
