Lotto Hessen has upgraded its retail lottery offering via a partnership with Scientific Games (SG), incorporating a large number of the supplier’s terminals.
Over 2,2000 SG-produced Contour.v terminals will be installed at Lotto Hessen retailers, whilst the Wiesbaden lottery operator’s gaming system will utilise its partner’s SYMPHONY system.
Part of a technology modernisation drive on the part of Lotto Hessen, the terminals being integrated into SG’s offering offer early processing and software upgrade options, and the Atlanta-based firm asserts that it has developed the units with reliability as a priority.
Martin J. Blach, Managing Director for Lotto Hessen, stated: “For 20 years, Lotto Hessen has successfully led with Scientific Games’ support to continually offer our retailers and players a modern lottery experience.
“The camera-based Contour.v terminals are part of our overall plan to continue innovating that experience and responsibly adapting to retail trends and consumer behaviour.”
SG’s partnership with Lotto Hassen will also cover gaming systems technology, an instant game management system, a sports betting solution, instant scratch games and the Scientific Games Enhanced Partnership instant game management programme.
The agreement marks Scientific Games’ second European deal in as many months, following the August launch of a new central gaming system for Latvijas Loto, the national lottery operator of Latvia.
Further afield, the company has penned deals in its founding market of the US with the Pennsylvania Lottery and in New Zealand with Lotto NZ.
Matthias Müller, VP of Sales & Marketing for Scientific Games, added: “The lottery ecosystem is increasingly complex and Scientific Games’ global innovation teams continue to respond with advanced retail and digital systems technology that we have become known for in the lottery industry.
“We have invested in the best camera-based terminal solution for international markets with the Contour.v technology. Our modular solutions and third-party integrations, coupled with state-of-the-art technology allow lotteries flexibility without diminishing quality and reliability.
“The Contour.v terminals signify a new era for Scientific Games with the most advanced optics and pattern recognition software.”
