Premier Lotteries Ireland – operator of the Irish National Lottery – has confirmed the appointment of Vivienne Jupp as the organisation’s new non-executive Chair.

Jupp has been a non-executive Board Member since 2018, and has held various board positions in both the private and public sectors.

She has replaced David McRedmond, who spent three years as its Chair as an An Post nominee.

“During David’s tenure as chair the National Lottery has moved from strength to strength and I look forward to working with him and the board to continue the organisation’s growth over the coming years,” said Jupp.

Despite vacating his role as Chair, McRedmond will continue to contribute to Premier Lotteries Ireland as a non-executive Director on the Board.

He said: “Vivienne brings a wealth of experience to the table and I’m delighted to hand over the reins to her valued and trusted leadership.

“As well as being good for governance, new and fresh perspectives are crucial for the continued success of dynamic organisations like Premier Lotteries Ireland and I wish Vivienne every success at the helm.”

Meanwhile, Premier Lotteries Ireland has received criticism in recent months over claims it had refused to tell an Oireachtas Committee how many people were contacted or had their accounts cut off due to overspending.
