Lottery industry veteran and Hall of Fame inductee May Scheve Reardon has joined instant ticket provider Pollard Banknote as its Vice President of Government Relations.

Reardon spent 13 years as the Director of the Missouri Lottery, where she increased the annual contributions to good causes from $250m to over $400m per year.

During her time spearheading the lottery’s strategy, she started initiatives including cashless sales, the implementation of the Million Dollar Retailer Club and put in place measures to combat unlicensed black market operators.

“After working closely with Pollard Banknote for many years in various roles throughout the lottery industry, I am excited to be joining their organization,” said Reardon.

“Pollard Banknote has always proven to be a forward-thinking company that continuously provides outstanding products and services to lotteries around the world, and I look forward to being a part of that.”

Elsewhere in her lottery career, Reardon served as President of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL), as well as the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL).

Her achievements include beginning programmes to expand lottery distribution including future in-lane lottery sales and working to improve industry relations with the National Association of Convenience Stores to aid work with retail partners.

It was revealed that Reardon was leaving the Missouri Lottery last month, as she reportedly came to loggerheads with local lawmakers over the decision to slash the lottery’s budget.

Specifically relating to her new role with Pollard Banknote, Reason has led national government relations efforts to protect individual state rights for online lottery sales.

“We are thrilled to welcome May Scheve Reardon to our team,” said Jennifer Westbury, Executive Vice President, Sales & Customer Development at Pollard Banknote. “May’s stellar reputation precedes her as she brings an unmatched wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role and will serve as a valuable resource to our customers.

“Her in-depth understanding of the industry and all facets of the lottery business will ensure that Pollard Banknote continues to offer the best support to our lottery partners in order to maximise funds for the good causes they support.”
