The Michigan Lottery and Pollard Banknote have renewed their partnership with the release of a new omni-channel PAC-MAN programme.

For the first time in the lottery’s history, the launch includes a $2 instant ticket, $1 pull-tab ticket and online instant game featuring the iconic gaming character.

The game is available under licence from Bandai Namco Entertainment America, exclusively through Pollard as part of its retro collection.

“The Michigan Lottery’s decision to launch an omni-channel PAC-MAN programme leverages a well-known brand that provides players with a multifaceted play experience, maximising engagement across all lottery channels,” commented Donna Preziotti, Senior Director, Sales & Marketing, Pollard Banknote.

The classic PAC-MAN theme is featured throughout all elements of the programme, with 2D shapes and play styles that reflect the game’s original graphics and play mechanics.

The instant ticket top prize of $30,000 is won if the PAC-MAN progresses from start to finish without running into a ghost, or if the player uncovers a cherry while in the maze.

Meanwhile, on the pull-tab ticket and online instant game, a player wins by matching three consecutive symbols in a horizontal row.

There is also a bonus game in the online instant game which can be activated when a player finds three PAC-MAN symbols in a row, presenting additional chances to win.

Preziotti added: “With a fulsome marketing campaign that includes point of sale and digital advertisements, we are confident that this programme will resonate with players and will be a welcome addition to the Michigan Lottery’s existing portfolio of successful instant tickets, pull-tabs, and online instant games.”

Earlier this year, Prezzioti lauded the “remarkable” success of the lottery’s instant retail ticket sales in FY2021, which achieved $2.5bn.
