GamCare, GamBan and GAMSTOP have teamed up to launch a new campaign #TalkBanStop, promoting their tools and services to the UK general public.

To be launched this spring, the campaign will encourage the UK public to make the most of free tools to manage their gambling spend and to utilise support services to seek professional advice about gambling concerns.

Last December the three safer gambling organisations announced they would be forming a team for a 12-month pilot campaign offering free tools to help people stop gambling.

Promoting their services together for the first time, the safer gambling organisations underlined that each provides a vital resource to ‘help at-risk gamblers kick-start their recovery journeys’.

Split into three segments, the #Talk element of the campaign will promote GamCare’s 24/7 free phone service, offering vulnerable players direct access with trained gambling harm advisers.

Ban promotes Gamban’s ‘blocking software’, which users can download across all digital devices to comprehensively stop access to all online gambling websites.

Finally, #Stop raises awareness of GAMSTOP’s self-exclusion programme, preventing its users to have any type of interaction with gambling operators, including accessing websites, creating new accounts and receiving marketing communications.

The tools and support services are backed by the National Gambling Treatment Service as vital layers of protection for anyone struggling to control their gambling.

The campaign statement reads: “We know that lockdown has been a troubling time for many people.

“To help people struggling to control their gambling, and their loved ones, our new campaign TalkBanStop is encouraging people to make the most of free tools and support that are available this spring.”
