Lottery software provider Spinola Gaming has announced new partnerships with several Brazilian lottery operators, taking advantage of its new Latin America focused solutions via its lottery management system, global/custom lotteries, instant games and digital scratch cards.

The move to take on the Latin American market, specifically in Brazil, came at the end of 2020, with lots of excitement coming from fresh regulations and the country’s lottery market ‘opening its doors to new providers’.

Spinola Gaming stated it envisages the Latin American market to grow exponentially over the next three to five years, with studies suggesting that Brazil should occupy third place in the global industry once it has become a regulated jurisdiction.

Given regulators in Brazil are removing the country-wide lottery monopoly, and the expectation of the regulations to legalise fixed odds sports betting as a form of lottery, the country could well become a huge contender in the igaming race in Latin America.

Also, the draft decree has depicted the ‘concession’ (and no longer the ‘authorization’) as the business model to be adopted by the Federal Government, giving Brazilian states authorisation to exploit their own lotteries, provided that these lotteries become legislated at the federal level.

Spinola Gaming’s Latin America team, having anticipated change in Brazil, worked swiftly with its product and sales people to take action, resulting in the recent launch of the Latin America-focused Spinola Gaming product suite at the end of 2020. According to the firm, this moved from discussions to partnership status relatively quickly.

Development Manager Manuel Santos said: “Brazil continues to be one country that has great, but unrealised potential in multiple sectors, one being online gambling.

“In comparison, Colombia’s state lotteries have grown to become the main player in Latin America gaming, with 15 different regional lotteries in operation currently, but Brazil has the potential to top Colombia and gain the status of Latin America’s most powerful country when it comes to online gambling.

“Our new partnerships with Brazilian lottery operators gives our company the right roots to grow with Brazil as it reaches the next stage in the market.”

Earlier this month, Spinola Gaming announced that US lottery operators and software solution providers have started discussions to utilise its Connex lottery management system and its portfolio of games to upgrade their digital platforms.
