The UAE Lottery has joined a nationwide co-initiative for the support of Filipino expats in the Emirates.
Alongside the Philippine Consulate General and consultancy service Infinite Communities, the UAE Lottery participated in the SAGIP support programme that took place in Dubai, providing beneficiaries with essential groceries, as well as career advice and wellbeing counselling.
The support was further elevated by voluntary contributions from UAE-based, Filipino-owned businesses, human resources practitioners, psychologists and healthcare professionals.
Philippines Consul, Aleah Marie Gica, said: “The Filipino community in the UAE has always demonstrated resilience and unity during difficult times.
“Community outreach programs such as SAGIP reflect the strength of collaboration between institutions and community organisations working together to support those most in need.”
The SAGIP initiative is the latest action taken by the UAE Lottery as part of its H.O.P.E. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, which focuses on supporting marginalised communities and workers in physically demanding fields across the UAE.
Suzan Kazzi, Associate Director of CSR at Momentum – The UAE Lottery, added: “At a time when many members of the Filipino community are facing various challenges, we aim to provide not only immediate relief through grocery pack distribution, but also pathways toward resilience and renewed opportunities.
“Through our HR specialists who volunteered their time and expertise, the career coaching sessions were designed to help beneficiaries navigate uncertainty, regain confidence, and reconnect with employment opportunities through practical advice and guidance.”
