Gaming tech firm Scientific Games has signed a four year deal with the La Banca de Quinelas de Uruguay, the national lottery of the South American nation.
The deal marks the Atlanta-based firm’s second move in South America this year and its first of the second quarter, having secured a contract with the São Paulo lottery, alongside Brightstar, earlier this year.
Its latest partnership with the La Banca de Quinielas will see Scientific Games expand its Ra$padita product range for the lottery. The Ra$padita range is an instant scratch game, sold across the country in supermarkets and small shops.
The company has added another game to the product range, Micromotion, developed on reflective foil paper.
“We’re delighted to continue our highly successful work with La Banca de Quinielas,” said John Schulz, President Americas and Global Instant Products for Scientific Games.
“Our teams apply Scientific Games’ global instant game expertise to continually enhance the Lottery’s Ra$padita portfolio and drive responsible growth.
“We look forward to bringing more entertaining Ra$padita games to Uruguayan players, while generating funding for important good cause programs across the country.”
The deal expands Scientific Games’ foothold in South America, with the company having focused largely on deals in its founding nation of the US throughout much of this year.
The first five months of the year have seen Scientific Games sign deals with the Arkansas Lottery, Delaware Lottery, Florida Lottery, and the New Mexico Lottery.
It has secured deals outside of the Americas too, however, such as with the Latvia Lottery just last week.
The company is not the only one focused on expanding its presence in South American lotteries, however. Bally’s Intralot partnered with the Polla Chilena de Beneficencia of Chile last month, for example.
