The lottery of the Argentine state of Chubut, Institute of Social Assistance (IAS) – Chubut Lottery, has extended its reach into horse racing betting.

Beturf, the online racing platform of the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo racecourse in Buenos Aires, announced a partnership with the Chubut Lottery this week.

The deal will enable the lottery to offer betting on both Argentine and worldwide horse racing, with the lottery adding that the product will be available ‘24 hours a day’.

This may raise some concerns around player protection in Argentina, where there have been some attempts to push for gambling reform in recent years. New federal advertising rules were pushed through last year, for example.

However, the Chubut Lottery asserts that player safety will be central to the new platform.

“This agreement with Beturf is an important step to continue modernising the Chubut Lottery and offering safe and legal tools to bettors in the province,” said Ramiro Ibarra, President of the Chubut Lottery.

“We want those who enjoy horse racing to be able to do so through authorised platforms, with transparency and with the support of the State. Furthermore, this also represents a direct contribution to the development of national horse racing.”

The deal will connect Chubut Lottery users to the Beturf online domain, where bets can be placed on Palermo races, as well as fixtures from US tracks like Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita, Laurel Park and Aqueduct.

Markets will also be available on races in Uruguay, Chile, France, Canada and elsewhere.

Platform features include live streaming, real-time updates, bet planning, saved bets, and instant deposits, while competitions will also be held for Chubut Lottery customers to win raceday experiences.

“With this agreement, Palermo and Beturf strengthen their presence in the sector and continue to consolidate a quality digital proposal for turf fans, while Lotería del Chubut expands its legal and regulated gaming offer in the province,” the lottery concluded.
