Scientific Games has appointed former Walmart figure Ovie Doro as Senior Vice President of Data, Analytics and AI to strengthen its leadership team.

Doro will lead the expansion of SG Analytics, Scientific Games’ enterprise analytics function, which brings together data, business intelligence tools and advanced modelling to support decision making and performance across the firm.

His remit will span both retail and digital lottery channels, with a focus on translating data into measurable, ROI-driven outcomes for lottery customers.

“Advanced analytics is critical to how Scientific Games supports our lottery customers and drives innovation and performance for sustainable growth,” said Pat McHugh, CEO of Scientific Games.

“Doro brings deep experience understanding consumer behavior and building scalable analytics and data science capabilities at global organisations, and we’re excited to have him lead this mission-critical work.”

Doro joins from brewing giant AB InBev, where he served as Senior Global Director of Data Science and Machine Learning Engineering, pioneering the AI strategy for its global B2B e-commerce platform which drove revenue growth across several global markets.

He brings more than a decade of experience in architecting and scaling enterprise analytics and machine learning platforms across global consumer and e-commerce organisations.

Prior to his role at AB InBev, he held senior data science leadership roles at Walmart and Jet.com, where he led teams responsible for customer analytics, experimentation platforms, personalisation and lifecycle modeling.

At Scientific Games, Doro will advance SG Analytics by strengthening the Atlanta-headquartered company’s capabilities in areas such as market and channel intelligence, competitive insight, ROI and growth modelling, data engineering and machine learning.

He will also play a key role in driving analytics-led product growth, personalisation and experimentation, helping to better link retail and digital lottery experiences through cross-channel optimisation.

Doro will report to Chief Transformation and Strategy Officer Carrie Galvin.

His appointment comes just months after the business brought in Keshav Pitani as Senior Vice President, Digital Games and Laura Higgins as Vice President, Customer Success and Strategy.

Galvin added: “Doro’s appointment strengthens our ability to translate data into action and value for our customers.

“His experience building analytics capabilities that deliver real-world business outcomes will help us better serve lotteries through smarter products and performance insights.”
