Brightstar Lottery (formerly IGT) has secured a contract with Pan Malaysian Pools (PMP) for the provision of 1,200 proprietary retail terminals.
As a licensed numbers forecast operator in Malaysia, PMP will leverage the partnership to modernise its business infrastructure with Brightstar’s Retailer Pro S2 terminals to meet shifting demands of lotteries and retailers alike.
Tan Kong Han, PMP Managing Director, commented: “Deploying Brightstar’s Retailer Pro S2 terminals will provide several added benefits for PMP, our retailers, and players.
“The many components of this sophisticated terminal will support PMP in our efforts to offer modern experiences for our players, reliable solutions for retailers, and enhance productivity and profitability in our business that continuously funds The Community Chest, which establishes and develops schools throughout Malaysia.”
The terminals themselves offer 15.6” full HD touchscreens powered by a high-performance processor that ensures rapid transaction speeds. A modular design supports multiple player-facing displays and the ability to fit multiple peripherals, such as barcode scanners, fingerprint readers, NFC reading technology, as well as webcams for added security.
Marco Tasso, Brightstar COO International and Italy Operation, added: “Brightstar’s Retailer Pro S2 represents the next-generation evolution of our industry-leading Retailer Pro terminal, now more compact, powerful, and flexible.
“Designed for dynamic retail environments like those in Malaysia, the S2 redefines player engagement by offering a range of interactive options that elevate the experience for PMP’s players.”
Brightstar’s latest Asia-facing expansion follows a major success in Europe, where the four-company Italian consortium it is a part of managed to secure a nine-year tenure to extend its operation of ItalyLotto – a highly popular fixed numbers game.
