The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) has awarded the iCAP Ready supplier accreditation to Scientific Games.
A version of NCPG’s Internet Compliance Assessment Program, made for suppliers only, the certification proves that the lottery supplier has met the top standard for consumer protection through its iLottery platform.
Scientific Games, headquartered in the state of Georgia but active internationally, has also satisfied user experience requirements for consistently safe, enjoyable online lottery play.
Andrew Jackson, VP, Corporate Responsibility for Scientific Games, commented: “We are honored to achieve this important iCAP supplier accreditation from NCPG.
“Our government-regulated lottery customers can be assured that Scientific Games’ iLottery platform and solution meet the highest standards in the US for responsible gaming and player protection.”
As mentioned, iCAP is a US accreditation, and focuses on best practices in online gambling player protection. It is held by only a few lotteries and suppliers in America.
The process
Scientific Games underwent an assessment, conducted by independent responsible gaming experts, audited a framework of player protection processes, tools, responsible gambling policies and completed several training sessions.
This included demonstrating to employees that the company remains committed to safer lottery play.
“Scientific Games continues to demonstrate leadership in responsible gambling by earning iCAP Ready accreditation,” added Jaime Costello, Director of Programs for the National Council on Problem Gambling.
“This accomplishment reflects a thoughtful and proactive approach to player protection, and we commend their commitment to aligning with best practices that support player well-being.”
Continued US expansion
Scientific Games is maintaining its position as one of the biggest technology and hardware providers to the US lottery sector.
The group has recently added another layer to a major existing partnership, launching retail terminals with various South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) outlets.
This marked an expansion of the group’s profile in the Carolinas, building on the rollout of the SCiQ terminals with North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) early last month.
