The Kansas Lottery has gone live with its iLottery program powered by Pollard Banknote technology.

Officially available to customers, the program runs on Pollard’s cloud-native, modular and API-first Catalyst Gaming Platform. The collaboration’s launch-to-market comes ten months after the initial work began, which according to Pollard Banknote marks “the fastest implementation of a full iLottery program” in the US.

Kansas players now have access to draw-based games such as Powerball and Mega Millions, in addition to a catalogue of nine e-Instant games from the portfolio of Pollard’s digital games studio.

The latter include Jayhawk Riches and Wildcat Riches, which are both tailored to a Kansas-native audience by ‘celebrating the rivalry between the Kansas State University and University of Kansas athletic programs’.

Plans are already in the pipeline for the roll out of more draw-based games, with new e-Instant games launching every two weeks to add novelty to Kansas Lottery’s offering.

Stephen Durrell, Executive Director of, Kansas Lottery, commented: “We’re thrilled with how our team at the Kansas Lottery and Pollard Banknote have worked together to achieve this historic milestone. Pollard Banknote walked with us every step of the way, providing effective guidance at every decision point.

“Despite the inherent complexity of launching an iLottery program, the planning and implementation process went very smoothly, owing to the strength and flexibility of Catalyst and the comprehensive support from the team at Pollard Banknote. We really appreciate their leadership and their partnership.”

The new collaboration builds on a pre-existing partnership between Pollard and Kansas Lottery, with the latter operating the PlayOn Loyalty Program – Pollard Banknote’s proprietary loyalty solution. Members already in the program will be able to upgrade their existing accounts to feature the new iLottery offering.

In addition, Kansas Lottery’s latest turnkey iLottery solution also features a Player Account Management system with full control over registration, age and ID verification, transactions, and RG policies.

Furthermore, Pollard is also a key partner of the Kansas Lottery on one more front – providing geolocation services through its GeoLocs technology.

Doug Pollard, Co-Chief Executive Officer at Pollard Banknote, added: “We greatly appreciate the confidence the Kansas Lottery has shown in us by being the first client to launch Catalyst.

“They have been excellent partners on the journey to today’s launch, which represents the culmination of our decades of experience developing and operating iLottery systems in Europe and Canada.

“It also speaks to the success of the Pollard Digital Games Studio, whose eInstants are now available in many jurisdictions around the world. This launch solidifies our position as the lottery partner of choice across all channels.”
