Intralot has deepened its partnership with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), targeting growth in the digital space.

Through its US subsidiary, Intralot will work closely with the BCLC for the development and market launch of a new online lottery platform, part of the Lotos X ecosystem.

As reported by Canadian Gaming Business, both companies will also collaborate on digitising Intralot’s existing land-based network. The extended partnership will continue until 2028.

Intralot and BCLC first announced a joint project earlier this year that saw the migration of the lottery corporation’s retail lottery system to Intralot’s cloud-based Lotos X Omni ecosystem. With the transition successfully implemented in June, BCLC became one of the first lotteries in the world to have a fully cloud-supported system.

In a previous interview with SBC Media, BCLC’s CEO Pat Davis described 2024 as “a journey of digital convergence”, which sees the crown corporation fulfil its five-year strategy to transition from retail to online and “revolutionise gambling entertainment”.

Working with advisory firm SCCG Management, that journey has encompassed some big operational shifts; not only the Intralot projects but also the launch of a new AI and Data Innovation Hub in collaboration with tech firm Future Anthem that aims to facilitate greater technological advancement and personalization of its offerings.
