Zeal revamps leadership team as Martens ends CCO duties

ZEAL Network, a Frankfurt-listed online lottery provider, has announced the resignation of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Sonke Martens, who has been with the company since 2014.

Over his tenure, Martens has played a pivotal role in various management positions, including Head of Product and Managing Director. His significant contributions were instrumental in developing the company’s multi-brand strategy, especially after the acquisition of Lotto24.

Appointed as CCO in July 2021, Martens also joined the Executive Board. While he has stepped down from this role, he will continue his association with ZEAL Network until the end of February 2024 to facilitate a smooth transition of his responsibilities.

In the wake of his departure, ZEAL Network has restructured its Executive Board, now comprising three members. Peter Steiner, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at ZEAL Network, expressed gratitude for Martens’ commitment and innovative approach, which significantly influenced ZEAL’s corporate culture and positioned the company as a leader in the online lottery market.

Helmut Becker, CEO of Zeal Network, also acknowledged Martens’ contributions, particularly highlighting his leadership in tripling billings in the core business, integrating LOTTO24 and Tipp24, and enhancing customer lifetime values and customer acquisition strategies.

Becker expressed regret over Martens’ decision to leave and pursue other entrepreneurial ventures, wishing him success in his future endeavors.
