International Game Technology (IGT) has signed a transition agreement with the Loterie Nationale Belgium (LNB), continuing to support the national lottery providerâs operations.
In particular, London-based multinational group IGT will provide the LNB with both retail lottery and iLottery central systems technology and ârelated lottery productsâ for up to four years.
Belgiumâs national lottery is a long-standing client of IGT, notably using the NYSE-listed lottery and gaming tech groupâs einstant products extensively since 2017, highlighting these is of particular significance to its players to Lottery Daily last year.
âLNB has leveraged IGTâs high-performing technology and its expertise as the global leader in lottery to help modernise our business and drive growth for the last 30 years,â said Jannie Haek, LNB CEO.
âThis extension ensures that our lottery players will continue receiving the same high-quality experiences they enjoy at the retail point of sale and while playing compelling eInstant games online.â
The agreement with the LNB follows a series of similar agreements in what has been an active H1 2023 for IGT across multiple markets. The groupâs activity has seen deals in North America, South America and Europe.
Notable partners either onboarded or renewed during the first half of the year were the Connecticut Lottery in the US, the Minas Gerais State Lottery in Brazil, Svenska Spel in Sweden and West Lotto in Germany, whilst also relaunching instant win tickets for the Malta National Lottery.
The year could prove to be even more transformational for IGT, however, as the firm placed its Global Gaming and PlayDigital assets under strategic review. Potential outcomes could include a merger or sell-off of or retention and further investment in the divisions.
Jay Gendron, IGT Chief Operating Officer of Global Lottery, added: âOver the course of our longtime partnership, IGT has worked closely with LNB to successfully stay ahead of ever-evolving lottery trends and innovations.
âIGTâs flexible core lottery and iLottery systems securely power LNBâs retail, digital and omnichannel sales, while a variety of related components support the Lottery in its efforts to offer players responsible and exciting experiences.â
