The Idaho Lottery has vowed to continue offering ‘world-leading’ instant scratch games after extending its contract with Scientific Games.

The two firms have been in partnership since March 2021, when a two-year deal – with the option of an additional six years – was agreed for Scientific Games to design and manufacture Idaho Lottery scratch games.

Under the terms of the deal, the lottery has access to the company’s portfolio of 4,000 instant scratch games and more than 100 licensed entertainment brands like Slingo, Monopoly and The Wizard of Oz.

After confirmation of its latest contract extension, the Idaho Lottery and Scientific Games have pledged to continue collaborating on game design and planning.

Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Executive Director, commented: “We are excited to continue our success with game innovation together and look forward to working with Scientific Games to expand our Idaho Lottery Scratch Game offering and ultimately drive more funding for education in our state.”

The company’s high-performing products, including two of the top-grossing Idaho Lottery scratch games, Sapphire 7s and Million Dollar Blowout, impacted the lottery’s revenues in fiscal year 2022.

Total ticket sales surpassed $300m for the second time, reaching $376.3m in the year leading up to June 30, 2022.

As a result, the lottery was able to return a record $300m to the People of Idaho fund during the year’s trading.

Scientific Games’ John Schulz, President, Americas and Global Instant Products, added: “We have a strong, innovative partnership with the Idaho Lottery and will continue to deliver high-performing scratch games for the enjoyment of players and the benefit of education in Idaho.”
