The Danish state-owned lottery and gaming operator Danske Spil has signed a new deal with sportsbook OpenBet to extend its long-term partnership.
Danske Spil and OpenBet first collaborated in 2013, with the latter providing essential sports betting and technology support.
OpenBet is also an integral partner of Danske Spil’s established sportsbook brand Oddset and helps to power its mobile and online sports betting platform, as well as more than 2,700 retail betting terminals across Denmark.
Karsten Fogh Holanng, CEO of Danske Spil, which achieved record-breaking profit in 2021, commented: “OpenBet has been a valued partner of Danske Spil since 2013, and we remain extremely impressed by the company’s continued ambitions to elevate the sports betting experience.
“With this contract extension, we are in a stronger position to further evolve our online and retail offering, bringing the safest and most exciting products for bettors to enjoy.
“OpenBet has raised the game and we are looking forward to offering the widest range of products and markets to our loyal customer base.”
Following this extension, Danske Spil and OpenBet have outlined plans to work closely to ‘engineer match-winning strategies for the highly regulated Danish market’.
Meanwhile, OpenBet contends that this latest agreement – signed until the end of 2025 with the option of an additional year included – demonstrates itself as ‘a leading sportsbook provider to lotteries worldwide’, with seven WLA members currently live with its sports betting technology, content and services.
