Sportech has confirmed its Chief Financial Officer Nicola Rowlands will step down from her role from the end of September.

After informing the firm of her desire to leave, Rowlands will complete her final day as the lottery tech firm’s financial lead on September 30 as she takes up a new role as the interim CFO of digital marketing group DEPT

Rowlands commented on her departure: “I have been with Sportech for nearly twelve years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the company and am proud of what has been achieved by its management and employees.

“However, I believe it is time to move to the next stage of my career with DEPT. I am confident that Sportech will continue to deliver value for shareholders and customers alike and I wish the Board and the team all the very best for the future.”

To maintain ‘an orderly transition’, Rowlands will continue in her current role until the release of the firm’s interim results in September before Sportech confirms her replacement.

The board noted that it is ‘considering its appropriate composition going forward and is looking to appoint a replacement in due course.’

Richard McGuire, Executive Chairman, added: “We are grateful to Nicola for her dedication, professionalism and support to the Group, specifically during the recent years when she played a pivotal role in the transactions and restructuring the business, resulting in the elimination of debt and returning significant capital to shareholders.

“She will leave here with our best wishes for her future career.”

This comes shortly after Sportech confirmed the departure of its CEO Andrew Lindley, who stepped down from the firm in May after under a year in the role.
