Pollard Banknote has added Hot Stuff to its portfolio of licensed games, marking the comic book character’s first foray into the instant ticket category.
Already well established in the lottery and gaming space, the ‘devilish’ Hot Stuff, complete with its ‘magical pitchfork’, has now been made available for use on printed instant tickets by lottery provider Pollard.
Since January 2019, more than 40 North American lotteries have launched over 200 instant games with the ‘hot/fire’ theme, which Pollard proposes is especially suited to Hot Stuff, in addition to other themes such as Valentine’s Day and food.
“Hot Stuff, the impish prankster from comic books, is a blast from the past that will appeal to a broad audience,” commented Brad Thompson, Vice President, Sales & Marketing at Pollard Banknote.
“This retro brand offers versatility across tried-and-true themes and opens the door to creating whimsical and visually striking ticket art that will command attention at retail, making it an ideal licensed property for instant games.”
Meanwhile, Pollard revealed this week that its Q1 revenue had been boosted by record instant ticket sales, reporting $113.9m in sales for the period ended March 31.
However, a lower instant ticket average selling price decreased sales by $3.9m compared to 2021.
