Illinois Lottery has unveiled a new draw-based game, combining retail tickets with online play in its new ‘Scan-N-Play’ feature on its Fast Play game.

Providing players with a ‘brand new’ way of playing the lottery, Scan-N-Play enables players to buy a physical ‘Fast Play’ ticket from a retail location before scanning the ticket on the Illinois Lottery mobile app.

Here, the player will see the ticket ‘come to life onscreen’ before revealing if a prize has been won and the amount the player has won.

“This is a brand new experience for retail players – we’ve transformed a black and white physical ticket into an engaging online play experience,” commented Harold Mays, Lottery Director.

Over 20 US state lotteries offer a Fast Play game in the physical realm, however; the Illinois Lottery is the first to offer the game in a digital format.

“This is a US first. With innovative design and engaging content, the Illinois Lottery is giving its players a new experience and a completely different way to play Fast Play,” Mays added.

“Strong feedback from our research is that players are excited to give it a go.”
Recently, the Illinois Lottery announced it had broken its previous sales record by 6% in H1 of FY2022, with lottery sales totalling $1.7bn as it generated $431m for the state’s Common School Fund.
