The Texas Lottery has launched its ‘Veterans Cash’ scratch-off game to commemorate Veterans Day and support ex-service personnel.

Raising funds for the Texas Veterans Commission’s Fund for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA), the new game costs $2 and features more than $7.9m in total cash prizes throughout the game, including five $30,000 top prizes.

“For the last 12 years, the Texas Lottery has been honoured to generate much-needed revenue – more than $167m to-date – for the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance, which now benefits more than 1.7m veterans in the State of Texas,” said Gary Grief, the lottery’s Executive Director.

“Every year, the Texas Lottery produces a number of scratch ticket games that exclusively benefit Texas veterans, including Veterans Cash. We look forward to providing the FVA with the proceeds from this year’s games.”

The lottery first launched the Veterans Cash scratch-off game in 2009 and in total, 55 scratch ticket games have launched, with the proceeds from those tickets supporting the FVA.

During FY2021, the Texas Lottery Commission transferred $23.4m to the FVA.

“We are excited for this Veterans Cash ticket release in honour of Veterans Day and our mission of serving veterans and their families in Texas,” added Thomas Palladino, Executive Director of the Texas Veterans Commission.

“By sharing proceeds from Veterans Cash tickets and others, the TVC has served over 350,000 veterans, surviving spouses and dependents.”
