The Ohio Lottery’s Human Resources Director Liz Alex was a recipient of the 2021 Power Awards from the National Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL).
The NASPL Powers Awards are presented each year in recognition of the ‘significant contributions lottery and vendor employees have made through exceptional job performance.’
Alex has spent over 27 years with the Ohio Lottery Commission and has served as the HR Director since 2009. The Commission has said her expertise and experience have been ‘critical’ in protecting its employees throughout the pandemic.
In a statement, the Ohio Lottery said: “In a time of uncertainty, she provided quick, clear, and transparent communication to senior management regarding interpreting, implementing, and complying with new state and federal guidelines related to the pandemic.”
The lottery added that her work in ensuring all 385 employees seamlessly transitioned to a work-from-home environment was vital to keeping the commission afloat in the last 18 months.
Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald commented: “Over the past fiscal year, the Ohio Lottery has recorded record sales and profits. This would not be possible without the strong administrative support from Human Resources to ensure departments were appropriately staffed, employee morale remained high, and discipline and accountability were enforced. Liz is undoubtedly one of the unsung heroes of this success.”
