The Atlantic Lottery has signed an agreement with Neccton in a bid to maintain and improve its responsible gambling measures.

Neccton, a Vienna-based Data Science firm, won a tender to supply the lottery with systems to help protect its players from the dangers of problem gambling.

Dr Michael Auer, Director of Neccton, commented: “We are always very proud when distinguished organisations use our tools to help their players but when it’s a group like Atlantic Lottery that is already so well recognised for their work in player protection, it means even more to us. Our values are aligned and we look forward to working together for a long time.”

The firm’s algorithmic rating tool allows the lottery to detect patterns of problem gambling arising from its users, giving it the ability to warn those players and impose measures to prevent such problem gambling.

Branded ‘PlayWise Rating’, the tool allows users to check their gambling habits directly from the Atlantic Lottery website providing they have been active for over 30 days. Users can confidentially browse their habits to monitor any troubling gambling activity.

The lottery is renowned for its dedication to protecting its players, boasting the World Lottery Association Level 4 Responsible Gambling Certification.

Stephanie Ryan, the lottery’s Head of Social Responsibility and Learning, added: “As a publicly owned corporation, our commitment to responsible gambling is at the forefront of everything we do.

“The PlayWise Rating is an important addition to the range of features, information and resources we provide to empower players to make healthy decisions about their play.”
