Danish national lottery and gaming provider Danske Spil has announced that Pernille Mehl, CEO of Danske Lotteri Spil (DLO), will leave her role after six years with the company to take on a new position as CEO of a tech company.

She will remain at DLO until November 1 at the latest. As of writing, Mehl was not in a position to reveal exactly where she is going.

Speaking on her departure, Mehl said: ”I have enjoyed every single day in Danske Spil, so it is with sadness that I have to say goodbye. I feel proud and lucky to have been surrounded by such competent colleagues who together have helped to create a strong business, and I, therefore, feel completely confident about having to play the ball on.

“However, Danske Spil will not completely escape me. The Lotto app and my PLUS subscription will always be an important part of me.”

Danske Spil noted that during her time at DLO, the outgoing director made significant changes and helped modernise the business.

CEO Nikolas Lyhne-Knudsen commented: ”Pernille, together with her own team and in collaboration across Danske Spil, has delivered an incredibly good effort and impressive results in DLO, which means that today we have very strong and competitive brands within our number game. Solid and modern brands that deliver a high turnover. In addition, Pernille has helped to strengthen our unique culture in Danske Spil.

“I would therefore like to take this opportunity to say a thousand thanks to Pernille and congratulations on the new challenges, and then I am glad that Pernille has plenty of time to follow the tasks right to the door and say a proper goodbye in the autumn.”

Earlier this month, Danske Spil announced it had reached an agreement with online casino content supplier Push Gaming.
