The Virginia Lottery has awarded a mobile sports betting permit to Unibet Interactive, the US sportsbook arm of Kindred Group.
Virginia joins a list of states which the Unibet Sports & Racebook has successfully entered and Kindred says it will offer customers in the Old Dominion State a “first-class online sportsbook experience”.
Following successful launches already in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana and with signed agreements for an additional eight states, Kindred believes Virginia will be a key state in Unibet’s East Coast expansion.
The Old Dominion State is one of the largest states in the US market and mobile sport betting is expected to reach over $370m in annual revenues at maturity.

Our aim is to go live shortly and we expect that the success we have seen in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Indiana will of course follow in Virginia.”

The firm concluded in its statement that it will continue to invest in growing its US operations where market conditions support a sustainable business model.
