La Française des Jeux’s (FDJ) board of directors has appointed Françoise Gri as an independent director, replacing Marie-Ange Debon for the remainder of her term, until 2023.

Gri also becomes a member of FDJ’s Governance, Appointments and Compensation Committee, and the ratification of her appointment will be put to a vote at the group’s annual general meeting on April 27, 2021.

Additionally, the board has elected Pierre Pringuet as its lead director. The independent director has also been selected to be the lottery operator’s Chairman of the Governance, Appointments and Compensation Committee.

Independent director Fabienne Dulac, meanwhile, has been appointed as Chairwoman of the Corporate Social Responsibility and Responsible Gaming Committee, replacing Debon.

David Chianese, the director representing employee shareholders, has also joined FDJ’s Audit and Risks Committee.

Before FDJ, Gri held several positions at IBM after joining the group in 1981, before becoming CEO of IBM France from 2001 to 2007. She then joined ManpowerGroup from 2007 to 2012 as its President for France, then as its President for France and Southern Europe.

She went on to become the Managing Director of the PVCP group (Pierre & Vacances – Center Parcs) from 2013 to 2014, before creating her own consulting business.

Gri is a member of the boards of directors of Crédit Agricole SA, Crédit Agricole CIB and Edenred, and was a member of the High Committee for Corporate Governance between 2013 and 2015.
