The Delaware Lottery has announced it has extended its exclusive igaming deal with long-time partner and online gambling operator 888 by an additional two years.

As a result of the extension, the partnership, which originally began back in 2013, will see 888 continue to power the US state’s online gambling platform, with players able to access a range of casino and poker games.

Speaking to iGB, Delaware Lottery director Vernon Kirk, commented: “888 has been a valued partner since the Delaware Lottery launched its pioneering iGaming offering through the websites of Delaware’s three casinos.

“In another first, 888’s poker platform enabled the Delaware/Nevada/New Jersey Multi-State Internet Gaming Association to offer peer-to-peer poker liquidity and further enhance the player experience across all three jurisdictions.”

In addition to this, 888’s interstate poker network within the US will also continue to allow customers in Delaware to compete against other players located in the state’s of New Jersey and Nevada.

Yaniv Sherman, 888’s senior vice president of business development, added: “This contract extension demonstrates the strength of our relationship with the Delaware Lottery as well as the quality of our outstanding technology platform.

“The State of Delaware has been a pioneer in the developing US igaming market and we are delighted to further extend our partnership.”

The extension follows on from the June revelation which saw the Delaware Lottery post $1.1m in online gaming revenue in the state’s regulated market for the month of May, the organisation’s highest 2020 total, representing a 261.8% year-on-year increase on the $313,648 generated in May of last year, as well as a rise from $856,182 in April this year.
