New Jersey’s Jackpocket service announces $1m in winnings

New Jersey’s sole registered lottery courier service Jackpocket has announced that local players have won over $1m in lottery prizes using its mobile app, with the milestone coming six months following its December debut in the state.

As a result of the announcement, the firm is now offering customers more chances to win through the launch of New Jersey Lottery daily games in its app. Customers will now be able to order tickets for seven well-known draw games such as Mega Millions, Powerball, CASH4LIFE, Pick-6, Pick-3, Pick-4, and Jersey Cash 5.

CEO Peter Sullivan stated: “Daily games have been a top request from our New Jersey users from the start. Jackpocket now gives players a safe, alternative way to play both big jackpot games like Powerball and daily games like Jersey Cash 5 from home.”

By becoming the first state lottery to formally authorize lottery courier services, New Jersey has allowed ticket orders to be placed through a mobile app. The system enables players to  select their game and numbers, with Jackpocket then purchasing the ticket on the player’s behalf from a licensed New Jersey lottery retailer. Following the purchase, an image of the ticket is then uploaded into the app.

Aside from purchasing the ticket for players, the app also ensures that tickets cannot be lost as well as instantly and automatically crediting winnings directly into player accounts if the value is below $600.

Moreover, Jackpocket also grants players the ability to check lottery results, join lottery pools with friends and family, and access in-app responsible gaming tools. It has also been credited with increasing participation for both longtime players and new consumers who otherwise would not be active lottery players.

“Before Jackpocket, if there was a huge lottery jackpot, then maybe I’d try to find time to go and buy a ticket, but it was never convenient. Now I can take out my phone and place the order, see my past tickets and my lifetime winnings—all your play is in one place,” said a Bergen County lottery player, who recently won a $20,000 Mega Millions prize using the app.

The app is available for download on iOS or Android. For more information, visit jackpocket.com.
