The General Administration of the National Lottery of the Dominican Republic has announced that the draws for Bancas de Lotería, Lotería Electrónica and Billetes and Quinielas will resume tomorrow (June 3).

According to resolution 004-2020 issued by the Administrator of the Lottery Miguel Mercedes, the draws will take place from Monday to Saturday from 7 am to 6 pm, and on Sundays from 7 am to 4 pm.

The decision comes days after President Danilo Medina Sánchez established the start of the second phase of the economic and social reopening process on the island, but only after following strict protection measures.

“The Lotería Nacional has to remind lottery agencies that they must adopt preventive hygiene measures provided by the authorities of the Ministry of Public Health to protect employees and customers,” added the lottery.

They also reported that they’ve canceled several ticket raffles and draws scheduled before the emergency hit the local activities. These draws were supposed to happen in late March, April and May.

Last month, the president confirmed that the tourism sector will reopen in phase 4, where hotels and airports will be able to restart their operations with full staff. “In this phase, we will resume economic activity because all companies are expected to go back to work with 100% of their staff,” said the tourism commission, which warned that prevention measures will continue to be essential.
