Lottery technology firm Brightstar has added another two contracts to its growing list of partners, signing deals with the national lotteries of Slovakia and Mauritius just after revealing its Q1 results.

The deal with Slovakia’s TIPOS extends the long-running partnership between the two, which dates back over three decades under Brightstar’s previous corporate identity of IGT.

Brightstar renewed its deal with TIPOS back in 2019, and the new extension moves the expiry date to 2032. New terms will see Brightstar provide the Slovakian lottery with a new lottery central system, retailer terminals, and related support services.

“Brightstar continues to deliver important services and innovative solutions to help us grow lottery in Slovakia,” said Štefan Vyletel, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of TIPOS. “The success of our partnership funds a variety of good causes in Slovakia, including education and sports, and we are pleased to extend our agreement.”

“We remain firmly committed to providing TIPOS and its players with exciting and innovative lottery solutions to help drive funding for good causes in Slovakia.”

Over 8,000 miles to the south, the firm has secured a multi-year deal between two of its subsidiaries – Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation and Brightstar Lottery Cyprus – with the Mauritius national lottery operator, Lottotech.

Brightstar’s Mauritius plans

The company will replace all Lottotech terminals with its RetailerProS2 hardware, complete with the OpenRetail terminal application. It asserts that the deal will ‘unlock further benefits’ for the Mauritius lottery.

“Extending Lottotech’s trusted relationship with Brightstar into its third decade through this latest contract underscores our shared commitment to long-term innovation and growth,” said Moorghen Veeramootoo, Lottotech Chief Executive Officer.

“Enhancing our central system marks a significant milestone for Lottotech, enabling greater agility, flexibility, and disaster tolerance as we enhance the player and retailer experiences while positioning our business for continued success.”

Marco Tasso, Brightstar’s Chief Operating Officer for International and Italy operations, remarked that Brightstar was ‘honoured’ to have secured an extension with TIPOS and that it was ‘excited’ to deliver its terminals to Lottotech.

“We remain firmly committed to providing TIPOS and its players with exciting and innovative lottery solutions to help drive funding for good causes in Slovakia,” Tasso said.

He also described the Mauritius deal as “a natural next step in the evolution of Lottotech’s business critical operations”.
