Scientific Games (SG) will update Loto-Québec’s central gaming system with its proprietary Momentum ecosystem.

Replacing the lottery’s legacy system, Momentum will introduce a modernised technology infrastructure across both retail and digital channels, maximising good causes contributions.

John Schulz, President, Americas and Global Instant Products for Scientific Games, commented: “We are honored to further expand our more than 50-year successful relationship with Loto-Québec as its central gaming systems provider.

“Our advanced system is engineered for the future, delivering the performance, security and operational efficiencies that will support Loto-Québec’s sales and sustainability.”

The new agreement which seeks to optimise the lottery’s performance builds on the existing partnership between both companies that includes the production of instant scratch games and the rollout of SG’s PlayCentral retail self-service terminals.

Marc-André Doyon, Regional Vice President of Operations for Scientific Games, added: “Our Montréal facility has a long history of collaboration with Loto-Québec. Our employees in Montréal are ready to take on this new opportunity.

“For decades, Scientific Games has produced more than 4,500 instant scratch games for Loto-Québec, including its very first scratch game.”

Momentum incorporates easy integration with real-time communication management and detailed monitoring to safeguard core lottery infrastructure.

Besides Québec, Momentum has also been selected by the Ohio Lottery and the New Mexico Lottery. Across the pond, SG has supported Allwyn UK in its venture as the National Lottery operator.

Most recently, SG secured a similar partnership with Lotto New Zealand, which besides Momentum will also incorporate the rest of the technology company’s tech stack, including the SYMPHONY central gaming system, WAVE Contour point-of-sale (PoS) terminals, the SG PAM player account management system, and logistics provided by the SciTrak and the gem|Suite lottery retail management system.
